Sailing

Here at VYC we have a passion for the water.

Location matters and with our proximity to the Gulf of Mexico we are the best choice for your time sailing those turquoise blue waters.  When the winds are calm we look forward to you joining us at our weekly Fleet Captain's Luncheon sharing tales of your adventures on the sea from the past, present or future sails.

SAILING ACTIVITIES

Sailing has always been a big part of VYC and many members sail their own boats, join the "JOY" Sailing Club, or crew on other member boats, so anyone can be a sailor!

Our sailing activities include social sailing, charitable events, racing, youth sailing, and cruising.  A Sailor's Table is hosted by the Fleet Captain - Sail, once a month where all those interested can swap stories, keep up with scheduled activities, enjoy feature speakers/presentations and enjoy dinner at the club.

The VYC Sailors organize cruises to other FCYC clubs and marinas throughout the year.  Some of our sailors also join the power boaters on their cruises for an interesting blend
of power and sail!

There are many opportunities for club members to race their boats or crew on other member boats.  The Venice Sailing Squadron has weekly fall and spring races.  See details on our Regattas below and join in the excitement and fun by sailing or being a spectator!

Whether it's summer or year-round, youth can sail at the Venice Youth Boating Association with their learn to sail, race team or camps for kids of various ages and skill levels.  They even offer an adult learn to sail program and family night sails!

JOY SAILING CLUB

Want to have the freedom to sail without buying a boat?  Our Joy Sailing Club is gives you access to a 33ft Beneteau that may be used for day sailing, racing and cruising to nearby clubs.  Managed through our Fleet Captain - Sail and Dockmaster it's the best way to find yourself out on the Gulf of Mexico.
